Arroz Blanco (Venezuela)

 

In Venezuela we love to eat rice. 

Recipe Arroz Blanco
IngredientsPreparation
2 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
4 cups water
2 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
2 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Brown the onion and then add garlic, pepper, cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
Add the rice and cook for about minutes.  Add water, salt and black pepper; bring to a boil.
Simmer for about 15 minutes and when start to boil, reduce to low heat, cover and cook for 10 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
